The First & Longest Running. One Loft Race to be organised in Ireland

At the end of 2009. after organising the ALPLVE LOFTS ONE LOFT RACE for Four Years we were hoping to have a break & skip a few vears of organising the event, however we have built up quite a loyal bunch of supporters over the four vears. who have genuinely expressed disappointment at the prospect of no Alpine Lofts one loft race in 2010. along with some other developments that have occurred in the last few weeks, we have seen fit to offer the opportunity to those that want to compete in One Loft Racing in this part of the country to have a go. The concept this year will reflect the economic position that people in general and the country as a whole

It's not like it was four years ago when we first started, back then people seemed to have lots of surplus income to engage in One Loft Racing and many other pursuits that entailed too. Nowadays things are much tighter, so to take some of the sting out of the situation we propose to accept Young Birds into the 2010 ALPINE LOFTS ONE LOFT RACE on a deposit basis, that means, you can enter your birds into the race for a deposit of € 25 per bird, there will be no more to pay until the week before the final race, additional € 100, and only then, if your bird is still present at the lofts, even at that stage there is NO obligation to enter, however if the bird is not entered, then it cannot win any prizes.

The race itself will be a North Road event, and the proposed race point will be Girvan. or Mauchlhe. Which ever Point is chosen by the Eire National Flying Club, where your entry will also be entered into the National Race.

Please do not wince or whine about it being either a North Road or Cross Channel race, because we have been there plenty of times before, and have had some good results from those Race points in the past, the last time being 2nd Open National with young Birds from Girvan a distance of 181 Miles. If you are not interested, men that's fine.

The Birds will be trained and raced hard. There will be no Hot Spot Races, but there will be updates for every training toss & race being posted on our web site each evening, when trading stars, not before. The only downside to the whole thing will be, that we will not have a guaranteed Prize fund until the week of the final race, the size of which will depend on you the entrants, but with 90 percent of the final payment being paid out on the Race Day. I'm sure that those entering will have quite enough to fly for.

Young Birds will be accepted into the lofts, from date of issue of this statement.

If you are not supplying your own young birds. There will be a fine selection of Belgian bred Young Birds
available to fanciers & non - fanciers alike to chose from, giving everyone a chance to have an entry.

Francis & Marguerite.
